Tanner Hudson Out for the Season With Torn Pectoral

Cincinnati Bengals tight end Tanner Hudson has suffered a torn pectoral that will end his season. During last Sunday’s game against the Miami Dolphins, Hudson was injured while attempting to make a tackle on special teams. Earlier in that game, he contributed with three receptions for 14 yards and scored a touchdown, earning commendation from Bengals coach Zac Taylor.
“He’s just Mr. Dependable,” Taylor praised after the game. “Whether he’s on the practice squad, whether he’s on the roster, he’s going to show up. He’s been who we thought he was.” Despite this setback, Hudson’s role this season had been significant after being elevated from the practice squad to the active roster on September 29. Before his injury, Hudson had made 42 appearances for the Bengals over four seasons, totaling 84 catches for 707 yards and five touchdowns.
The Bengals will now have to rely on other tight ends such as Erick All Jr. and rookie Jack Endries to fill the gap left by Hudson’s injury. Considering the impact, adjustments in the tight end rotation are anticipated as the season progresses.
